Nelsonic Pac-Man Game Watch 1982

"This game retailed for between $25 and $35 and quickly became one of the most popular Nelsonic Game Watches, selling over 500,000 units.^[2] This unit was released with several different faceplate graphics and at least 2 different styles of physical layout - one with 4 directional buttons and the other with a small joystick that could be assembled."

Christmas Comes to Pacland was created by Hanna-Barbera in 1982 as a Christmas special for their Saturday morning cartoon based on the popular yellow ghost eater. The cartoon first appeared on ABC on December 16, 1982.

Pacman Fever the title song on the Pac-Man Fever Album, was released in December 1981 and became a top ten hit. The album went gold.

Pac-Man on the Atari 2600

The Atari 2600's port of Namco's Pac-Man was released in 1982. Controlled with Atari's famous 'Joystick', the player guides 'Pac-Man' through a maze while avoiding four ghosts; Blinky, Pinky, Inky & Clyde. The game was programmed by Todd Frye for the 2600 console. Frye managed to complete the game in record time and did it inspite of the limitations of the hardware. Unfortunately the game did not live up to expectation and was a major flop for Atari. This game was followed by Mrs. Pacman and Pacman Jr. (which is a much better game).
